The dreaded 5-0 isn't as bad as you might think. I've still got most of my original parts and most days I still remember my name....

    Couldn't agree more with the Band in a Box suggestion Brad. It's perhaps the best tool ever devised to learn improv. Especially now with the RealDrum tracks.

    They are as accurate as the person who played (or entered) the midi notes. Midi is the actual note values for each part so there is no interpolation involved but it assumes the song is correct in the first place.

    Ed's gonna be mad at you!!! LOL! I somehow think Ed hates the term 'fisher' as much as I do. I dunno about that 99.9% number I should point out that I mean on the boats not the industry in general. Around here it's predominantly...(more)

    Even though 99.9% of persons involved in the fishing industry are male they must now be refered to as fishers not fishermen. This always makes me laugh as a fisher is a small weasel. <img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb...(more)

    I figured that's what you were up to. I'm really busy here. Seems as soon as you go into business for yourself you give up any kind of life.

    I guessed 4dB or so. Pretty close if I do say so myself. Ok, no more patting myself on the back. LOL

    I'm a backup singer, as long as I back up far enough from the microphone so they can't hear me LMAO! I'm really quite musically challenged. It's only a stubborn streak a mile wide that's kept me going this long. I highly, VERY highly, ...(more)

    I practice using a laptop PC and headphone amp. I plug my bass and fx into a 16 channel mixer. I plug the mixer output into my laptop line in and the lappy line out into my headphone amp. This way I can practice with accompaniment from Band in ...(more)

    Guess the Japanese like to write the name of the bass on the body itself It's probably because there's no room on the tiny headstock. ; }

    Hey Brian, taking a break from preparing taxes? How's things? The 60s and 70s were pretty fuzzy decades. Maybe there was something to all that peace, love and chemical substances bit...

    I guess you're technically correct but I think it's fair to say many of the 60s ideals carried on into the 70s. At least from what little I remember of the 70s. LOL! I see I need to update my home page as I'm 50 now. On second thought maybe I'l...(more)

    hahaha I haden't thought of that. Seems we were wrong in the 60s and 70s. No more peace and free love. Now it's violence and prudism. I liked the 60s better.

    Wow, that's nearly identical. I see the tuning pegs are in different positions but other than that you can barely tell the difference.

    The PJB stuff is really good. It's light weight and powerful and sounds good. It would be excellent for small gigs with a blues or jazz band, say at a wedding or coffee house. I wouldn't expect it to work well with a rock band in a mid size to l...(more)

    The PJB suitcase is a punchy little unit. I've heard it played and the volume is up there. The tone is pretty good too but it falls off a little on the lower notes IMHO. The response time is very good though. Although I haven't heard the Peavey...(more)

    Unfortunately there's no easy answer to that question. There's simply too many variables. For example, say you want to compare 2 4x10 cabs at 400W each with 1 8x10 cab running 800W. Even assuming they are made by the same manufacturer and are u...(more)

    I think you are asking what happens to the sound pressure level (in dB) when you double the power output of your amp. Correct? Well SPL is a logarithmic scale. It takes ten times the energy to raise the SPL from 80dB to 90dB as it does to raise...(more)
