Thanks Brian, you've cleared up some of the misconception for me. It seems tax rates have declined somewhat but I remember them at their most punitive levels. I was also refering to combined federal and provincial taxes which also makes it seem ...(more)

That's interesting Brian and maybe I'm suffering from a popular misconception. I do believe though that US tax rates rise less with income than ours.

I agree with everything else but our system is hardly free. Our taxes are much higher than the USA and in most provinces we pay a medical premium as well but it's usually the employer who pays it through pa...(more)

Well too bad we couldn't find a simple cure Bo. It sounded very much like the sampling size could have been it.
At least you can always go back to direct recording via your sound card.

That might be the whole problem Bo. If Audacity is sampling 32 bits at 44KHz and the lightsnake is only providing 16 bits then you're getting 16 bits of garbage with each sample. That's almost sure to show up as noise.
