Are the harmonics coming when you are muting, or when you are fretting?
If when muting, try muting with multiple fingers. It changes the node position, cancelling harmonics.

I used copper shielding on my Ric (they are very noisey!), but I think I did it wrong. Being an electrical engineer, you would think I would know how to do these kinds of things. Turns out that sometimes you can create some unwanted capacitance ...(more)
