Nothing like digging up an old thread.
I'm curious if anyone knows how to approximate Peter's tone on CTA's 1969 self-titled debut album. I've read he played a P-bass with a pick through an Acoustic 360/361 rig but not sure if he went direct on...(more)

My friend Eric Czar is selling his ATK he used on tour and in studio w/ Joe Bonamassa. Will not be around long at this price. Here's a link to his Craigslist ad...

Ha! My first amp was a heathkit combo back in 1977. Come to think if it, it did have a bit of that tone...but Mel did use West Filmore amps and stacks of 2x15 cabs I believe

I just rec'd a SVT 3 Pro amp I purchased on eBay and I was very pleasantly surprised to discover it was shipped in a Gator case. I was not familiar with them before seeing this one.
It's a wood-lined fabric case with rack rails in the front tha...(more)

I had that oval logo on a 410HLF myself. That's what made me wonder. Thanks for the link

Just curious, does anyone know what year (roughly) when Ampeg changed from the classic square logo to the newer oval shaped logo?

I have been putting together a new setup (starting from scratch, again) between Craigslist, eBay and Bass NW in Seattle. It's been fun to piece together what (for me) will be the nicest rig I've ever had, yet still doing it on a modest budget.

Thanks for the link. It looks like these reviews are for an amp not a cab...but I'll look around that website and see what else I can find. Thanks again

Picked it up last night. Outstanding condition for being 20+ years old. Serial # confirms it's 1986 or 1987. Now the only problem is it's too nice to butcher for the Mel Schacher project I mentioned in my other thread. Think I'll pick up a MIM o...(more)

Found one in mint condition for $400, about 20 years old. Guy tells me US Made Fenders were made in Japan for a couple years while the US Factory was down(?) and it's of good quality.
Anybody know if this is accurate info?
