I've been playing bass for, what, almost 30 years now. Can it be that long? You'd think I'd be better by now. I'm fortunate enough to have played with some outstanding musicians here in Dallas and in Houston over the years. I've been playing a fair number of country gigs lately. That's relatively new - but what I've found is that a lot of country these days is really just roots rock-n-roll. And a lot of these bands aren't afraid to trot out their version of unexpected tunes, like, for example, Purple Haze. Great fun!
