Former Death Metal Bass Player
I started playing when I was 16. I started playing metal just about right away and never learned how to play "real" music. The last live show I played was in 1997. (damn it's been a long time) I stoped playing all together for 5 or 6 years. Now I am trying to learn all kinds of music. I can play but I need to learn what to play. I have been having so much fun learning. This site has been helpful and fun.
No Longer Just A Bass Player
Well it's been a couple of years now since I joined this site. And posted that first home page message. This site has been very helpful. I now jam at least once a month. And today I no longer have to say I only know metal. Rock, Blues, a little Jazz whatever I like to play it.
Well now it's been a few more years since my second update here. This site continues to help me grow as a musician. I was just at a jam and I was taken back by the compliments I received from the other musicians. I not an ego driven person(I don't think many bass players are) but it was really nice to hear that people appreciate the work you have put into learning your instrument.
