General Info
Hello ActiveBass. I was bored during school so I figured I'd join and see what this is about. Well I live in the great surfing metropolis of Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach, SC and there are very few talented drummers and musicians in the area. No one in highschool at least. For all the Steve Bailey fans you should move to Myrtle Beach so you can take lessons or attend classes at Coastal Carolina University, where I will soon attend. I am in the jazz band there even though I don't play upright and I got the biggest gig of my life the Tuesday after Thanksgiving so I'm am stoked.
Gear
Axe- I play a Fender 1962 Jazz reissue special edition I bought a few years ago when Mars Music was still around. That is the sickest playing, feeling, and sounding bass in my opinion. I do have a cheap fretless five thats an import but its barely worth mentioning. Amps- My main amp for practicing is a 90's Peavey TKO with 1 15 in it. It sounds good but the speaker is about to go bad. My gig amp is some Fender bass amp with a 15 in it and built in chorus which sounds great. Last my brother owns an Ampeg V-4 from the 70s and it is massive. I can barely turn it past two. (It should go to 11) Strings'n'Things- I love DR roundwound Lowriders and will never go back to ernie ball or the fender flats on my bass now. Thats about it with gear and I am debating whether to buy a vintage Jazz or a sweet Conklin bass like Rocco Prestia from Tower of Power.
