The first rig I bought is already gone.. Now I play an Ibanez srx500 (see my review)and an Ibanez AEB10E (acoustic). My amp is an Ibanez SW35. I also use a Digitech BP 50 effect gizmo, but the possibilities are way to complicated for me, just love the drum machine.
I study with the Bass method by Dave Overthrow (National Guitar Workshop) I'm using Band in a Box software to create songs(?) without bassline, which I then try to "spice up" with self invented basslines. My family loves me for that :-)))......
For now my ultimate goal in bass playing is the bass solo on "little schoolgirl" by Leo Lions (TYA - Live). If I can play that solo correctly and with sufficient tempo, I will have fullfilled one of the dreams from my youth. Actually playing the bass and not just the "air bass" I was using back then.

Well, still going strong with the bass, now playing in a band and taking private lessons. Great things to do. I bought a new combo, Hartke VX 250 watts. By the way, Ive not taken the time to study on the before mentioned bass solo from Leo Lions. Will do in due time......
Although I'm not as green as grass in the "age department" (born in 1957), I'm new to bass playing and music in general. I've been telling myself for years to pick up a bass and start playing it, but it took me till september 2004 to do so! I had been staring through windows of music stores for years but was a little shy to enter and tell the "gurus" in the store that I was (and still partially are) a total nitwit in the bass and music scene! I bought a "made with pride in china" start up set; bass-cable-tuner-amp and also a bass-nitwit instruction book(see my review)and was on my way!
