Introducing Big Dale....The Low End Purist!

Wassup Bass Community, Big Dale hailing from PG County Maryland. I have been playing since 2003 when my mother put a bass in my hands as a birthday gift. At that time I was going through a divorce and fell in love with playing the Kramer 4 string. I found out almost instantly that this is the instrument I should have been playing for years. Everyday after it was me and the Kramer learning one song at a time. The Kramer was stolen and replaced with a Squire MB-5 which has great sound. In the middle of all this which has been from around 04'-06' I remarried my wife. Long story with no short cuts....and thanks..I now have a Fender MIM Jazz Bass with a VX410 Hartke Bass Cab and a Hartke 2500 pushing it. This site has also proven totally valuable. The people here are tremendous as a new bass player I was often shy about asking anyone anything. Here I find the folks honest and fun and downright enjoyable. I play Jazz, R&B, Funk, Go-Go (DC) and some Blues. I play totally by ear. I havent learned all the notes on the fretboard yet(shame I know) but I play anything I hear. Thats the gift from the Man Above. Playing with this Smooth Pocket beat band called Smoov Creations. Were doing covers in a go go format with some original material thrown in. I will have a sample of us next week. ****First Gig is May 29th We are doing a Breast Cancer Awareness Show***UPdate on the Show..got some of it on Youtube check it out. And more at our myspace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=375088456. UPDATE 4/15...After that first gig May 29th I have been playing for a whole year now. The second annual I give a damn jam is May 28th 09'. I play in Church now(which is great) Smoov Creation (Go Go) and the Crime Stoppers (Hip Hop,Funk and R&B with a Rock Tilt) Im now owner of a company called MSSE(Mobile Studio Sound Engineers) We do live sound, recordings, demos, editing and producing. Alot can happen in a year. Just last year I never played with any musicians, now Im playing with alot of folks who think I have potential. So if your just starting keep at it but the best thing is to find someone who knows how to play the bass or even any instrument that will propel your learning curve greatly. 6/23/10...Just posting. I have been in a few bands we have some good grooves that I will post sometime. We are jazz R&B oriented with a slip of Rock and Blues. No name for the band yet but were just taking it easy and making sure everybody has time. I will post soon.
