Hello

This is April Stevensons interpretation of me :)

My name is Pelle, and I live 25km outside of Stockholm, Sweden, in a town/suburb called Tyresö. I used to live in an apartment in the city, but in August '02 we moved to a house here. Living in a house beats an apartment by far!
I picked up the guitar about three years ago, but things didn't turn out the way I wanted so I practiced less and less and eventually stopped playing. Just before last christmas (2002) I got this sudden urge to play bass. Mostly because I started listening to Primus, and watched some videos of Stuart Hamm. The bass sound really caught my attention, like it never had before. I knew immediately that I just had to get a bass somehow. And now I have one!
Cheers!

Playing the bass?
I don't know why I'm writing this, but I suppose it can be good for any guitar players who are considering switching to bass :)
At first I didn't realize how different it would be to play the bass, compared to the guitar. I figured it was pretty much the same thing, only the strings were a little fatter. Well, now I know better =)
I was surprised by the width of the frets and the thickness of the strings. On my guitar I had no problem using 1 finger per fret on the first positions, I can't really do that on the bass. I also decided that I wanted to learn how to play fingerstyle, since it looks much cooler ;) my favourite bassists play fingerstyle (almost all of them) and it seems much more versatile. I will try to learn to play with a pick too (I can do it pretty well since I always used a pick when I played guitar) but fingerstyle is my main priority. At first I really wanted to learn how to slap, but I've decided to do that later. Enough of my rambling... see below for my gear (which isn't much to brag about :)
This is me and one of my cats (it looks really fat, but he's not that bad in reality :-)
My gear
I have a flame red Dean Edge Custom 5 string. It has passive EMG-HZ pickups and an active preamp. 24 frets, a single inlay at the 12th fret. Wenge fingerboard. It's great to play :) As for amplification, I now have a Kustom KBA-30 whichs whips my old tiny guitar amp speaker right upside the head. Here is a picture of my beautiful, beautiful bass.

Why not throw in a photo of my new amp as well :-D
