I don't want to bother with the amp and I prefer the acoustic. I bought a laminated german double bass back in May 2002 and play whenever I can; picking it up quick, though.
Double-mania
I jam to bluegrass and jazz; and a little funk. Yes, you can do funk and rock on the double bass. Getting into some arco (bow) grooves this year, too.
