hey, i've been playing bass since 1996 but i didnt really get into it until about 1999 because i was too small to understand it. i feel that bass has a lot to do with my personality because i have a strong will and i am the backbone of the band just like bass is the back bone of the music... to me anyway. i am currently feuling up my band with some serious death metal. i am also currently exploring different musical styles as a form of reference as well as different spiritual experiences to further highten my existence.
Bands that have influence my bass playing
Morbid Angel has to be the main reason that i still play bass, while bands like deicide, slayer, old man's child, behemoth, and vital remains give me a taste of what metal is. i try to focus on my own style but as someone once told me "everything has already been done... its getting harder to stay original." i believe this is true but u must stick to the mood of the song to get the full effect. silverchair was my main influence to try playing bass in a band... as they put out their first cd at the age of 16.
