extreme black,death,and thrash metal,with some classical influence
hey whats up.my name is joshuah jones.ive been into extreme underground metal for a long time now and im tired of seeing this type of music not get the credit it so much deserves.ive been in a black/thrash/death metal band now for about 8 years we are working on a full length album right now for dark horizons records.i am also in a second band that plays progressive black metal and we are working on a demo for release soon.i am 22 and i live in central california(bay area and sacramento area).
black and death metal just noise?
i hate it when people say that!they dont even listen to it and they judge it at face value as noise.black and death metal has some of the worlds finest musicians period.ever hear of opeth?how about sceptic,emperor,dimmu borgir,naglfar,malevolent creation just to name a few.the styles of metal known as thrash,death,and black metal incorporate many styles into their playing.ranging from classical to jazz to blues and then some,it is very complex and beautiful in a dark sense of the word,not to mention some of the greates drummers ever.ever here of nicolas barker?he broke the record for speed,consistancy,andtechnique in the year 2001 he plays in dimmu borgir.ever here of pete sandoval?he uses the quad kick it is a two pedal system for the bass drums that uses heel to toe action to get four beats insted of two to get really fast and blasting speed,he jams in morbid angel check it out on the album gatewyas to annhialation its the album he started experimenting with it on.i started my band to show the city i live in that metal isnt noise ,its deep and has many layers if you can get around the singing(thats what drives people away).the signing in this style of metal is to complement the guitars with an added texture of beefiness and depth so if you are new to this style of music the best way to get into it is to just sit back and listen to the music and zone out on it and then the singing will just blend in and soon youll be able to tolerate it if not appreciate it for how hard it is to do that style.cliff burton would be proud of many of the musicians i listen to and thats a huge statement to say.check out some of those bands i listed and see for your self.
