About Me

I'm a sophomore at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. Only a music minor, I'm majoring in Business Management and plan to get my Masters with a concentration in advertising and marketing. I hope to carry that into the music industry.

I was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida and have moved around eight times in the first nine years of my life, never really got settled until my family chose to settle in a nice little town in Northern New Jersey called Madison. It's a quiet little town with a small jazz scene, and the music department in the school system really sparked an interest in me. I haven't been the same.

Musical Studies

In 1995, I started playing alto sax in my elementary school band, and later moved onto tenor and baritone saxes before becoming my high school's utility woodwind player, spanning all four saxophones, clarinet and flute. Somewhere in there, I picked up a bass guitar in March '01 and my life changed for the better. A couple years down the road, I realized that by joining orchestra on double bass, I could essentially get free lessons, and yet another monster was born. I became a double bass player with a passion for the bottom end, and haven't looked back.

I'm currently studying jazz bass and piano under Paul Rostock and Frank Giasullo respectively at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. I'm also continuing my electric bass studies in my spare time and am currently between gigs.

I have plenty of knowledge of gear and music, so if you've got a question, I'm more than happy to answer it or just chat.

I've been around ActiveBass.com for years and years, and only recently made a comeback. I believe I originally joined in late 2001 or early 2002 and have been posting like mad ever since. In 2002 I made the full time jump to talkbass.com and have over 7,100 mostly useful posts over there. Ive gained a plethora of knowledge that I'd love to share with you all.

Musical Equipment and Gear
In my years of playing bass, I've owned, played, and sold a large number of instruments. I started off on a brand new Ibanez SR400 and CRATE combo amp, and have evolved dramatically, owning over four dozen (by my most recent count) basses in just under a five year span. I've owned a plethora of Ibanez Soundgears and Fender basses, Ernie Ball Stingrays and numerous others.

I'm currently gigging an Olympic White Marcus Miller Jazz Bass with a 1975 Precision Bass Reissue neck. This bass is my holy grail, with the sweetest neck I've ever played. As my primary bass, this Jazz is usually played through my Gallien Krueger 700RB-II with a pair of NEO 112 cabinets. At this time, I'm also slinging a stock Fender Standard Jazz and a Korean Hamer CH-12.

On the upright front, I'm either bowing or plucking an Engelhardt EM-1 Maestro upright bass with D'Addario Helicore mediums.

I also do double duty on guitar either by slinging a Fender Strat or Ibanez Artwood acoustic, or a variety of keyboards including: Hammond M-111 organ, Korg SG-1D Digital Grand, Yamaha DX-7 and a Hohner Pianet.

Any questions?
