This is a story bout a man named Mike . . .
Just to give alittle background on myself, my names Mike, and I'm from New London, CT. I'm 17, in high school, and have been playing bass for about a year now. I'm currently playing a fender squire (yuck!). This has been real good to me (why spend tons of money on your learning instrument?), but I think it's just about time to move on. I'm thinking 5 string. If you got any suggestions, feel free to post on message board under any of the topics I've started. I'm extremely impressed with this website. To the creators: Keep up the good work. To the contributers: Keep posting and enjoy!
Little diddy that strikes a "chord" (pardon the pun) in me.
"In the City of Music, there's a hip little neighborhood called Bass Street. It's got its own style, lingo, heroes and points of view. All kinds of people live and work on BassStreetrastafarians, punk rockers and even good old boys from Texas. There are slappers, pickers, funk merchants, two-beaters, metalheads, be-boppers, rockers and swingers, but they all know how to drive the bus. It's the kind of working-class neighborhood that glues the whole City together, day and night. You know exactly where it's atit's where the grooves are fat, the lines are funky and everybody is living for those divine moments when they're right on time, in the zone, living life deep in the pocket."
