Catchy heads and super-funky grooves laid down by Medeski, Martin and Wood allow Sco to show us he truly is the master of electric guitar.
Scofield's chops are in unbelievable form and come across as completely listener-friendly.

These guys were there during the early years of Jazz Fusion. Tony Newton is one of the most under appreciated bassist of our time. Check out the bass lines on "Fred" and "Snake Oil", particularly. Every song on the original album was very good.

Duo recording of guitars and bass, with occasional overdubs. The music is lyrical and quiet, with interplay between bass and guitar while improvising solos.

Bobby McFerrin just surprised the heck out me. Based on a review in JazzTimes, I picked up his CD. Bobby mixes jazz and world music with his voice. His voice not as vocals, but as an instrument!

This is a live recording made in Spain of Bill Frisell's regular band, minus the 'cello player. If you like your jazz goofy, with lots of off-the-wall interaction between the players, you'll like this.
