I looked at several other types of Ampegs, Fenders, and Peavey amps. I found this one to be tremendously loud, warm, and pretty cheap. If someone stole this, I wouldn't think twice about getting another one. I love its range of sound and warmth. It's heavier than all hell though. Get a friend before moving it, unless you like throwing out your back.
Model Year: 2000
Price: $569.00
Where Obtained: Music Galaxy
Features:
This amp has 200 watts (350 with cab) going through a 15' speaker. 9 band graphic eq and a bass, ultra mid, and treble tone knobs and a gain and master volume knob. Push button activated limiter and graphic eq. Effects loop present. Solid state electonics.
Sound Quality:
I play melodic rock on this with an Ibanez SR 5-string. This amp can make the extreme low ends warm and the highs bright. There is no buzz coming from the amp, even at full volume. You could play anything on this amp with the right settings.
Ease of Use:
With the 9 band eq and 3 tone knobs there is alot of fiddling to be done, but its still easy to get about the sound you want relatively quickly.
Durability:
I bought this last week used. It still works after playing it every day since. Looks like it could take a beating and still kick the beats. Not too sure though, haven't dropped it yet.
