The purchase of this Hfner CS bass did me realize that I have come a long way. I played my first Hfner when I was 18, now I'm 51 and this little bass just makes me feel young again! The bass came with a genuine Hfner case, so the price was more than reasonable. I like this bass!
Model Year: 2009
Where Obtained: Marnic Instruments Holland
Made in China, shortscale bass with double humbuckers, passive electronics. The finish is highgloss sunburst, white pickguard on a violin shaped body. This bass simply asks for flatwound bass strings.
This is an ideal bass for rock and country-style music. I like to play it just for fun and to practice my pickplaying skills. Great for playing Beatles songs (of course).
Nice and very warm booming sound!
This bass was especially launched for live-performers who couldn't afford the higher class versions. The body and neck are slightly reinforced due to live gigs. The bass does seem to tackle all previous flaws like de-tuning and noisy tone and volume knobs. The bass can be used with the Hfner violin bass strap or with a normal guitarstrap. It withstands normal climate changes.
