Overall Rating:
I wanted the Taurus T-24 but they were out and this one had some good write ups, and I liked the simplicity.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $279.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music 123
Features:
Made in Vietnam, Beautiful heavy mahogany body, mahogany and walnut neck, 24 frets passive electronics, volume and tone control, taurus body style, natural finish with stain, one soapbar pickup, thick standard bridge with individual saddles, Grover tuners, 4 string.
Playability:
Frets were a little sharp on the edges, action was slightly on the high side due to a high fret, other than that it was a comfortable good playing bass. A bit heavy and dense, felt very durable.
Sound Quality:
Loud and proud! Sounde best with flatwounds. Very pronounced midrange, very growly and aggressive sounding. Tone control acted like a boost giving it lots of punch.
Durability:
Built like a tree! Very solid, dense, and heavy.
