Im really happy to own this. Its a extremely good bass for the money, leaving you with extra to upgrade in the future. I think the controls need replacing. That is the only thing that is really "wrong" with it. I would defenitly buy this bass if it was stolen, or another one from the Vintage Modified line. Really good bass!
Model Year: 2007
Price: $280.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians Friend
Features:
Made in Indonesia Soft Maple Body with clear natural finish Maple Neck and Fretboard with black binding and block inlays 2 Duncan Designed Single Coil Jazz pickups Volume control for each pickup and master tone Generic tuners, pots, and bridge 20 med. jumbo frets Controls are not very good, its either on or off. Good features i think for the price.
Playability:
Plays well. Not the lowest action but you cant expect that from a bass in this price range. Neck is playable but has some bumps in it near the nut. Balances well and isnt to heavy.
Sound Quality:
Play it through a Traynor YCV50 Combo as it is all i have right now. Limited on shaping the tone on the bass its self because of bad controls. Can go from a twangy soung to a full low. Gets noisy when one of the pickup volumes is off, but the pickups are single coil so thats ok. Need to upgrade the pots but the pickups sound pretty good.
Durability:
Seems durable but i havent really had any testing with this. The truss rod doesnt seem to loosen anything noticable. Stays in tune well, Though thats only when its in a temperature controled room. The neck might not last as long because it doesnt have a hard finish, though it makes it nicer to play.
