How To Make It Better: modify it with what ever suits your tasts!
My parents rented me this bass first and then bought it for me, and I really can say, I love this bass! I'm modifying mine with new strap buttons, a pearloid pickguard, Jazz bass knobs, a Jazz bass bridge cover, either a guitar pickup or a Seymour Duncan Basslines SCPB3 pickup, maybe new tuning pegs, and a bone nut, wrather than the plastic one. I can buy a Warwick $$ and be broke, but I'm extremely happy with this little axe. I was going to order a Mustang, but it is not worth spending $700 on a bass that has the same neck. Anyone with this bass and loves the feel, just modify it, get a better pickguard and pickup, and your sitting with a high quality short- scale axe! This can compete with $700 basses, so if you are beginning, or just love the feel of this neck almost as much as I do, grab one of these as soon as you can, you will not be sorry!

Now on to playability
On this bass, my prefered action is quite low, but not so much the strings buzz alot. This bass's strings will buzz a certain amount, untill you get used to the bass, but since the neck is a Mustang bass short scale neck, you won't have any trouble getting used to it! This neck is the legendary Mustang/ Musicmaster bass neck, but in a non-gloss finish. The bass is a great bargain, just for the neck and unique looking bridge. Compared to other basses, I go to my local music store every so often and play $3000 basses on $2000 amps, and come home to my Bronco and pick it up and play it with pride and joy. What I'm trying to say is this thing feels like its worth alot more than about two hundred bucks. The only flaws is the apperance. I dont like the knobs, pickguard colour, or the pickup colour. Also, the shape of the pickguard could be more exiting, but considering it is aiming at beginning bassists, it doesn't look that bad. But for playing flaws, the strings will buzz alot if the action is set even a bit low.
Right now, I use my Bronco with a 20 watt Peavey Microbass amp, and the amp spunds very similar to the solid state Yorkville amps. I also use it with Behringer PB100, BOD100, and BCH100 stomp boxes. My style is mostly rock, but I play punk, chords, emo, grunge, I play slap, and some Jazzy swing lines rarely. What I'm saying is that this baby can accomdate almost any style, due to its a begginners bass and is intended for players who haven't realy got their style figured out yet. This bass's sound s mostly neuteral, and has a kinda warm, but still bright sound withan easy to use EQ. As I've earlyer said, this bass can compare to to expensive basses, and with a better pickup, will really take off! For mods, I am getting a bigger amp to compete with my drummer, and a new pickup for much better sound. With the new PU, it will blow a Fender P-bass out of the water! Since it has the single coil, it is quite noizy at times, and the feedback is very strong. I haven't really used it for stage, but would imagine it would hold up very well.
As I've already said, I haven't used it on stage, but for truss rod, I haven't needed to touch it yet and I've had it for 2 years. For tone, when you are in standerd pitch, (E-A-D-G) it stays in tune very well, but for people like me, who down tune to flat, or to D-G-C-F tuning, it doesn't stay in tune as long, but still stays for about three days when I'm still poopin' away. For strap buttins, this thing SUCKS. they can't hold a Levi's strap for any worth, and witha strap lock, it will force the screw loose in a day. I took off the lock after a month and the strap now stays on pretty well. A new strap lock is definitaly something to get for this bass. For climate change, it fares average.
