I was thinking of getting the blue gripmaster (light tension) but the Guitar Center here only has the red one (medium.) I would've liked to have had an opportunity to compare the two. I will be taking mine back and exchange it for a new one. Hopefully this one will last more than 10 minutes.

The rubber palm piece came off only 10 minutes after I bought it. I left Guitar Center (this evening) and started for home. I was stopped by a train on the way home, so I opened up the package and started exercising. The rubber piece worked its way off in just a few minutes. When I got home, I could see that the only thing that holds the thing on is glue. Needless to say.... I will be taking it back.
This is a seriously excellent exercise tool. You can use it anywhere so you can still train your hands when your far away from your bass.
I got mine in medium. This tool has seriously improved my fretting hand and fretting takes less effort now. It also does wonders for my pinky.

Use it to build strength and dexterity in your fingers, wrists, and forearms so you can play longer and stronger. Options include: Extra Light Tension: For lighter workout. Light Tension: For beginners, younger players. Medium Tension: For experienced adult players.
Tension tends to lighten after some really extensive use but most of that's probably due to your increased strength. I've had mine for only a month now, and it still feels great. My friend has one that's more than a year old and it still works fine.
