Wow. Running through a Warwick 411Pro cab giving it only 300W at 8ohms. Powerful and punchy, just how i like my bass.
At the time compared with a GK1001, was leaps and bounds above the GK. Tried the GK for about 15 minutes. Liked it. Jumped on the Markbass for 5 and was sold. the filters provide such a fantastic versatility.

4 band EQ with 2 filters.
The VLE and VPF filters are something special
Weights only 6lbs
This is where the Little Mark shines.
Plenty of clean power, and when you turn up the filters, the sound is awesome. VLE cuts out the highs producing a smooth bassy sound. excellent for producing the funk and soul sounds. While the VPF cuts the mids, giving you a growling sound, great for rock and superb for slapping. This on a MusicMan Stingray is awesome for slapping, while the VLE filter give the Stingray some smoothness not capable in other amps.
8 rotary knobs in total.
Set your gains, and your away. Low, Low Mid, High Mid and High bands on the EQ, the fantastic filters and a master volume. Much less than on other heads, and equal or more versatility.
Feeling so light, you'd think it's cheap Chinese crap. but this thing is as solid as it comes.
Fantastic casing and really well made good parts. All the moving parts, switches and knobs feel sort of chunky and secure.
IMHO absolutely the best there is for the money for a solid state amp. I've played through a lot of different equipment and this is my fav.

Would be nice to have built in compression, but that's why I have a pedal. Has everything you would expect otherwise... +500watts :)
Best I've ever played through. I'm sold for life. I've played through Peavey, Acoustic, SWR, Ampeg, etc and this one is my fav.

Set eq flat and crank the volume
Tough as nails. have not had any issues after a hundred+ gigs.
Would get again if lost- & I needed it- just SO small/light /sounding SO good = a GREAT package!!!
Great cost also helps! ;-)

As other review- 2 inputs. Gain, bass, low mid, hi mid, treb, VLE, VPF, master vol. On/off. Solid state.
VLE=Vintage loudspkr emulator- rolls off hi freqs-used carefully can be very useful.
VPF=variable preshape filter- filters out Mids for a modern slap sound, mid scooped.
500w @ 4ohm, 300w @ 8 ohm. Very powerful!!!!!!
Has FX loop, & Line out xlr on rear.
NON program. LIGHT THO!!! 6lbs!!!!!-500watts!!!!!
AND small- I carry mine in a laptop bag- with mains, speaker, & guitar leads!!!!
Extremely well made- U can see the classy Italian workmanship jsut by lookin at it! Open it up & MORE is evident- very neat! Made for gigging! Doesn't get hot even at 4 ohms running LOUD for 4 hrs!
Many times while struggling to load/unload gear at gigs Ive stopped mid carry and thought "why dont they make this stuff lighter"?Well recent research found this little monster.I needed power and clarity and above all lightness and portability. Now usually you have to remorgage your house and sell your car to buy such an animal, but not so in this case! When reading the spec I thought this must be too good to be true but I thought Id give it a go.Believe me it does it all and I would buy it again!

The front panel has a comprehensive eq section with Low,Mid low,Mid high,High,VLE filter,Vpf filter,Master vol.All are rotary controls. There is a standard quarter inch input jack and above it a balanced input that accepts an xlr connector.
I use this amp with my Spector five string.Clarity and power are the two operative words here. This amp truly reproduces the sound of your guitar with no additional "colouration" with the eq set flat (some amps have their own signature colouration even when set flat) which makes this amp ideal for accoustic bass. The VLE and VPF filters are really all you need for colouration. The VLE(vintage loudspeaker emulator) filters out highs the more you rotate it clockwise giving you reggae dub at max and is useful for reproducing the motown sound. The VPF filter is a variable pre shape and very useful for hi fi slapness. This amp put a big grin on my face right from the little blue light lighting up.
Engaging my one remaining braincell I managed to get cool sounds out of this baby straight from the box, and even now Im discovering yet more subtle settings with the VLE and VPF filters.
There is no sleeve with this one just optional rack mount ears so it makes sense to protect it.The overall build quality is faultless with emphasis on small but perfectly formed. This is one you can stick in a laptop bag or armoured camera case.
