I love this bass. I took 2 months off from playing, and went out and bought this puppy. I now play more than ever, just because i love the instrument so much. This will be my main 4 string for a very very long time. I've read reviews that made these basses seem hit or miss, but mine wouldn't make me think that in any way. I highly recommend this bass.
Price: $400.00
Where Obtained: private seller
Features:
Made in Korea. I read a lot of stuff on these before I bought one, but I loved the way it played in the store, so I started shopping. Active Seymour Duncan Pickups, very nice flamed sunburst top. the 2 octave fret board is what had me finally looking at fender, as I've always thought they were overpriced. The controls are great, 3 band EQ, blend, Vol, and the 'Slap Switch', which is great.
Playability:
The bass plays awesome. The weather affects it, but then again, the humidity where i live sucks. Simple adjustments once in a while mean nothing to me. Plays and sounds awesome. It's still a jazz bass, just longer and more notes.
Sound Quality:
My speakers need to be replaced, but the bass still sounds amazing to me. The range of tone is just awesome. I've been playing active basses forever, and this is my favorite setup thus far.
Durability:
6 bolt neck, as opposed to the usual 4. mine came with a chip in the finish on the back, but i like to have character in my basses. so far, everything is as i would expect on a nice bass.

This is an awesome bass I would recommend it to anyone. Even Warwick basses don't compare. The only thing I would change is give it hum-canceling single coil pickups
Model Year: 2005
Price: $300.00
Where Obtained: Sam Ash
Features:
The bass was made in Korea alder body faced in quilt maple. It has a maple neck with a 24 nickel fret rosewood finger board. It has active electronics the circuit board is called a BEQ-3 volume, low, mid, and high tone controls, slap switch, and a pan pot. The pickups are two Seymour Duncan active jazz pickups. Jazz body with a sunburst finish. Thebridge is string-thru body. It has Hipshot tuners.
Playability:
It has a very low action with a very fast neck.
Sound Quality:
The sound is awesome you can get real boomy low, crystal clear highs, or anything in between.
Durability:
It is extremely durable almost never needs adjustment. Climate does not even phase. The finish is excellent it survives me playing with out a shirt in 100 degree weather outside.

Electronics ridiculously unreliable? Could I have gotten two (2) lemons in a row? What are they doing over there in Korea? If I had the cash, I would gut it and rebuild to my liking. The local music shop gave me full value toward a new American Standard J bass. Back to basics.
Model Year: 2005
Price: $700.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music Store
Features:
String thru high mass bridge, Korean made, Tobacco Sunburst, 24 fret Maple/Rosewood neck, Hipshot tuners, Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups, Bass, Mid, Treble and mid scoop switch.
Playability:
Set up after purchase then switched to EB Super slinky and set up again. Plays real nice now. Stays in tune well. Intonation seems perfect. I had a 65 J bass when I was younger. I think this one plays easier and has more tones.
Sound Quality:
Excellent tone variation possible from ultra thick to snap, crackle, pop. I use an old BXR100 Combo with built in Eq. I like Funk/R&B, Blues and Jazz and Rock.
Durability:
1.) Bridge PU went bad after 3 mos. Fender said since they had no Bassline PU's in stock, they gave me a new bass instead?!?!?! 2.) Sad to say the bass died completely this time. Two strikes and you're out. I traded it for a American Standard J bass. Too bad, it is a great looking and sounding bass. Maybe they should gut it and replace the innards with American parts.
