I've drifted from wireless recently, but think I'll delve back in once this band really gels. If again hooked, I'd definitely get another Samson.
Price: $400.00 Cdn (new)
Where Obtained: Musicstop Halifax
Features:
Transmitter has power & -15dB switches. Receiver has output level & a hidden "squelch" control. Receiver will take 9v; get a wall wart for it. Transmitter takes AAAs (wish for 9v). I'd most like a readily replaceable antenna (I'm paranoid). Switchable frequencies would be nice, but that doesn't happen in $400 wireless. If a new band has 2 players with the same frequency; uh oh.
Sound Quality:
In a very rare room I'd get reception problems. The device does give a mild compression to the signal. I wasn't happy with the 50Hz low-end spec, but it sounds fine (& I like it deep.)
Ease of Use:
Durability:
It ain't bulletproof. Loses a point for plastic & the antenna. But just a point.
