Markbass Standard HF102

400W Cabinet (2 x 2")

Made by Markbass

Description This is an older MarkBass cab hence the reason I have bought it. There was a serious rebate on the cab and it is the perfect match with my MusicMan HD-410 Davy LaRue cab.

I've hesitated between the Avatars B210 NEO and this one...since I already owned a MusicMan HD-410 with neodymiums, build in the same factory where the MarkBass cabs are made these days and since the MM410 cab also has B&C speakers and with both cabs having the same dimensions...this choice was made after a serious pondering on the pro's and con's. I would buy it again...I don't want heavy cabs anymore and I don't want to loose sound and power neither, so this cab is all I'll need. UPDATE: I have this cab for several weeks now and my ears are getting used to its incredible clear and pronounced sound, I love it! The frontvented cab moves a lot of air and the B-string sounds just great (although it is just a 2x10 cab!) My back is very grateful too...I can easily haul it around for hours! Just get one!
Model Year: 2004
Where Obtained: BEYERS MUSIC COLOGNE (BRD)
Features:
The new MarkBass cabs, have yellow coned speakers and logos so I have chosen the same 2x10 cab but in the older (black) version. Interesting about this cab is the switchcontrol of the horn, placed at the lefthandside of the cab instead of at the back. Black sturdy corners, professional handles and black carpet. These cabs are made in the same factory as were the MusicMan neodymium cabs were made, namely in Italy. The cab has B&C woofers. Rated at 400 (real) Watts at 8 Ohm, this cab is a perfect match with the MM HD-410.
Sound Quality:
The only thing I regret about this cab is that they are expensive. But they are worth their money anyhow. This 2x10 cab is great for slapping. It is strong enough to use as a stand-alone and hooked up with a 1x15 or 4x10 they just sound incredibly great. The sound stays clean at high volumes.
Ease of Use:
This cab only weighs 21.5 kg.!!! Thanks to the neodymiums this cab can taken along to any place without a problem. Even in a small Japanese car...
Durability:
This little cab is built like a tank. I have checked the wiring as well and the builders used thick loudspeaker cable as well, soldering is excellent too!
