This is a very nice bass for a rock n' roll, heavy metal sound. It has an excellent 3 band boost eq, that can cause gain problems with weaker cabinets, or practice amps. I don't like having a hard time finding super long scale strings for it.
This bass is not a cheap entry level, and I believe it rivals any $500-$700 dollar basses out there. I don't recommend it for those that don't like a mid range sound.

The neck is like a Baseball bat. Similar feel to that of a P Bass. The action is so low, that it makes up for it. It is a little heavy, so those with weak backs may wanted to get a padded guitar strap.
The one minus, is that in order for your bass to take advantage of the body through design, you have to buy SUPER or XTRA Long scale strings!!!!
I use it playing a head that pushes 2 cabinets, that have ALLUMINUM CONED speakers. That is the one downside. The bass has a very mid range sound, and when it has roundwound strings on it, along with the alluminum speakers...it gives off a real trebled distorted sound. I bought some flatwounds for it, and this cured that. So I really wouldn't recommend this bas if your looking for a fat Fender Jazz sound.
It seems like a tank, but the company has only been around since the end of 2003, or the start of 2004 so its hard to tell.
