Of course it kinda sounds like Bootsy Collins, he produced it. That's where the simularities end. Chris "Freekbass" Sherman has incredible talent not just as a bass player but as a writer. Songs like "Minute to Forever" make you say "Les who?". Freekbass is the man but it is also the band: J on sax, Swift on drums, and Sean McGary on guitar...did I mention the guest artists: Buckethead, Bernnie Worrell, and Catfish Collins. Bootsy only does extra vocals, the bass is left to Chris. There are a couple of little short fills thrown in for good measure but the tasty treats are songs like "Invincible, part 1" that is funking crazy. This guy slaps like a fish on the ice, quick and loud. He uses some great effects to let the bass flow with the other instruments. This is an enhanced cd so there is also a video of "always here" with Bootsy, the band, Buckethead and Catfish. The cd is available from CDbaby. Go funkify yourself!
