I honestly cannot think of any real improvement to this bass. I am having the inlay work done because my eyesight is diminishing and side dots alone don't cut it for me. I wear bi-focals. If it were lost or stolen, I would contact Michael again to build this same exact bass.

It was a three week adjustment period from a four string. The neck is thin, but the string spacing is wide for slap. Action is low enough to get good slap out of the top 4 strings (B E A D) and it snaps nicely. It plays, to me anyway, better than any other bass I have owned, except the 8 string Michael built for me.
Currently use Carvin amps and cab. The bass will play just about any genre of music you like. I play funk experimental slap, chording, jazz standards, heavy rock,
and improvisational stuff. I use compression and chorus mostly. A modification I am having done to it is some inlay work on the fingerboard. It is very quiet, shielded very well.
Here in Michigan, in the humid season, it tends to need more relief in the neck, and vice-versa in the dry winter season. Straplocks holding up well since '93,
the whole bass is holding well.
