Since I started playing Bass I have owned many in my quest for "my" opinion of what a Bass should sound like and this Bass hits it perfectly. If this Bass were lost or stolen I would definatley replace it (it would take some doing considering it's price). When I first layed eyes on this Bass I first noticed the color was not orangey like the pictures I've seen but more of a tobacco burst color which actually looks more vintage.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $1850.00 Canadian (new)
Where Obtained: St.Johns Music
Features:
American Made Alder Body 3-Color Sunburst Maple Neck with Rosewood Fretboard 1 Vintage Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup Volume, Tone Controls Nitro-Cellulose Lacquer Finish Vintage Style Reverse Tuning Machines
Playability:
I ordered this Bass sight unseen and was at the store when it arrived so I know nobody else played it before I got it. I'm not too thrilled with the factory setup on this bass, the pickups seem too high as well as the action. I can get used to the action but the pickups will have to be adjusted.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality is very warm and not too bright. It definatley has that vintage Jamerson "Funk Machine" sound.I will be putting Flatwound strings on it soon and I'm sure that will more enhance the sound I wanted out of this Bass.
Durability:
I've only had the Bass for a few days but I will be handling it with kid gloves, especially with the fragile nitro laquer finish.
