Overall Rating:
I bought this because of the reputation Carvin has for excellence and that it came so highly recommended. I will not buy another amp or cab other than Carvin. The only thing I would recommend to change is the complexity of the R600 amp. But, other than this - this is a wonderful combo. I will be investing in a RL115 to round out my sound.
Model Year: 2003
Price: $580.00
Where Obtained: Ebay
Features:
This amp will have you doing your homework. If like super-fine tuning your sound this amp will do it for you. It has 2 eq's with a 9 band. It has a low, mid, and high boost that you really aren't going to need, but its there. FX loop of course. The Compression controls provide a lot of control over the shape of the sound.
Sound Quality:
I use pedals very sparingly, but I use it with my Ibanez SRX705 and my Schecter Scorpion Bass. I play Christian praise music and hard rock, but this amp/combo can be used for any musical genre. The sound is superior to the Hartke, Peavey, Ibanez, and Laney that I have used in the past. Very clean sound.
Ease of Use:
Not the easiest to use, but like I said, if you do your homework and you learn your way around - you will love it. Not a beginners combo for sure.
Durability:
Very reliable and well built. Seems to be extremely sturdy.
