I tried lots of basses before I bought this one. Well, I didn't even try it first because I didn't like the color of the thing. But after only a few minutes of playing I knew this was my bass! It fits me and my playing style unlike any other bass I've found so far. My thrusty vintage fender precission that I've owned for such a long time lost it's first place the day I bought this peavey.
Model Year: 2002
Where Obtained: Piens Music Planet (Belgium)
Beautifull bass, gold sparkle body, Eastern maple neck, Pau Ferro fingerboard. Ultra satin finish on neck and fingerboard. One internally active VFL bridge pickup, one stack humbucking J-style neck pickup. 3-band equalizer with bass boost and cut. The equalizer and the panpot over the two pickups gives endless possibilities. The preamp produces an incredible range of powerfull sounds.
This bass has a satin finish on the neck. It plays very smooth. When I first tried it in the shop I immediately knew this was the bass for me. Balance is great and it's not too heavy.
I use a roland cube 30 bass amp a practice amp and a peavey TNT160. The bass sounds great on both. I wanted to get a musicman stingray but when I play this bass only on the bridge pickup I can get something very, very close. Plus, I can produce a lot of sounds that the musicman can't. This bass offers more variety wich makes it ideal for any style of music I can imagine
I haven't got this beauty for long but I already know that I won't have to tune this bass a lot. Tonation stays good once you get it right. And you get it right easily because of the practical and precise bridge.
