Very easy to use! You can use it to tune quietly on stage between songs as there is a mute facility on one of the two outputs. Can tune flat or double flat with ease.

Hasnt changed my sound at all! Just helps me keep in tune!
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use! Its really dependable. It could drain batteries if you are stupid and leave it plugged in, but i have a 9 Volt power supply and it works fine.

Its a boss! Whatelse is there to say? Solid as a rock!

There are a couple other stomp box tuners, but they looked kinda cheap. Everybody I know uses the TU-2 and I know why. They're perfect for live performance. The only thing I would caution about is that it's meant to have an instrument cable plugged into it -- it has no condenser mic, so you won't be able to tune acoustic instruments without electronics easily.
Features:
This is a great little tuner that is designed from the ground up for live performance. It has multiple tuning options (guitar, bass, half and whole-step detuned and chromatic). It's LEDs are visible from a distance and in the dark. It has a bypass output jack for silent tuning (which is also handy for simple, noiseless instrument switching). And to top it off, it can act as a 9V DC power supply for your other pedals. I wish I could give it a 6 in Features.
Sound Quality:
The TU-2 produces no noise and does not affect my tone.
Ease of Use:
Stomp on it to turn it on. Use the mode button to cycle through tuner settings. Very intuitive, and you can set it to keep its last setting through power-downs.
Durability:
Built like a tank. The foot switch has nice resistance and the buttons are small enough that you're not going to hit anything by accident.

If you need a pedal tuner, buy this one.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $79.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
Features:
If you want a pedal tuner, this is the one to go for. It has all the features you need and is easy to use.
Ease of Use:
Stomp on and you're tuning, stomp off and you're signal back out again. Personally, I use mine with a volume pedal that has a tuner out so I keep the tuner on all the time so I have a steady monitor of my tuning, which is especially nice with my fretless. You can have it read off the notes or the strings (ex. 1-5), so go with what you like to see.
Durability:
Like every other Boss pedal, its built like a tank.

Again, it does everything a tuner should. Chromatics are great...the cents mode is a little confusing for my liking, but I supposed they had to put something else in for people who want to be different. Its the same size as all the other pedals, and it is a nice bright white color and the leds are great to see it in the dark. The only thing I'd say that gives me the s---s, is that when you plug it in, it doesnt automatically turn on like the other 'normal' pedals...why is there no consistency.

Hate to sell one Brand against another. I've used many other stompbox tuners...given up on them until I found this. This is twice the price of any other stompbox tuner. But worth it. The tuner reaction time is amazing, almost as immediate as the strobo tuners. Just about as accurate. The tracking is amazing...does not "warble" like cheaper units. Well worth the investment for any working musician. Get a pocket tuner if you don't get out much, and can't afford a $100 tuner.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $74.00 (new)
Where Obtained: East Coast Music Mall
Features:
An automatic, chromatic, selftuning stompbox. Also acts as a power supply for other Boss type pedals. powered by 9 volt battery, or use the Boss power supply if you wish to power other pedals. 11 LED display to register the tuning. two LED arrows facillitate the tuning adjustment by sight. Two switches adjust the different tuning modes Change the tuning callibration. No knobs to turn. Turn on, play a note. follow the dancing lights. Mono input. Direct output. Tuner bypass output.
Sound Quality:
Fine. No tonal variations. No noise added to signal. No signal loss.
Ease of Use:
Out of the box, step on it...and tune. Not using a A440 tuning...then adjust your calibration. Want a pedersen style strobe tuner, change the mode. other modes allow you to tune down a half tone, whole tone...tune for bass...guitar...yeah. Use the Output. Step on this, and it kills the output so that you may tune in silence. Use the bypass output, and you can play the "tuning song" for everyone. Use the Boss power supply (Boss effects run off something like 9.6 volts...a straight 9 volt adapter will eventually burn out Boss pedals) to power this pedal. Then you can pick up the additional Boss Daisy chain to power any other pedal running off of 9 volt AC/DC power.
Durability:
Though the inside is a mess of digital ICs...the casing is seemingly waterproof, dustproof. It's a solid housing.

If it got stolen or lost, I'd buy a new one the same day if I could. It's really one of the best tuners out there. A cool aspect about this tuner, is the choice of outputs. You can either let the signal pass through as you tune, ot you can kill the signal in the tuner. Great for switching instruments!
Model Year: 2003
Price: $1050.00 NOK (new)
Where Obtained: Local music store (Tre45 Musikk)
Features:
It's a chromatic pedal tuner. AC or battery power. I can't really think of any features that I miss. It does exactly like what it's supposed to do, tune the bass. It has a good choice of tuning options, and two different ways of displaying the pitch.
Sound Quality:
Sound quality? Well, it's a tuner so this isn't really any issue. At least it doesn't color my signal as it passes through.
Ease of Use:
It's really easy to use. You don't even need the manual. Compared to other tuners I've owned, this one is by far the most expensive, but also the best.
Durability:
It's buildt like all other Boss pedals, like a brick. I can't really see how you could break it during normal use. The housing is all metal, and the interior is really simple, so there isn't much that can break.

Price: $90.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Birthday Present!!!!
Features:
Simply a Chromatic Tuner in a Boss stompbox form. Either 9volt or AC adpater (sold separately) will power this box. It also can be used as a power supply for other pedals, using a daisy chain.
Sound Quality:
This pedal creates no noise that I could tell, which is the main reason I bought it. Its less expensive than rack tuners, and since I have a pedalboard, it fits right in with my setup. I would recommend to put it first in your chain (straight from your bass), doing this will assure a clean signal is being tuned.
Ease of Use:
Step on the pedal, it mutes your sound and you're ready to tune your Bass, (or guitar). There are settings are as follows: Bass, Guitar, Chromatic. Personally I prefer the Chromatic setting, it seem to be the simplest to use. The tuning options are : Standard, Flat (half step), Double Flat (whole step).
Durability:
Standard Boss 5 year warranty. And what do we know about Boss?? They build their pedals like tanks!!! Kick it around and will still work like new.

Ninety bucks for a tuner? Sure. This puppy not only tunes your bass, guitar, and who knows what else, it mutes the line for instrument changing and supplies power to the rest of your rig with a daisy chain cord.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $92.99 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
Features:
Choice of tunings for bass, flatted bass, and double flatted bass. Same for guitar and chromatic. LED's indicate tuning in dark or daylight. This pedal is powered by either a 9V battery or an AC adapter.
Sound Quality:
Does not change sound at all, mutes when activated for switching instruments and more.
Ease of Use:
Step, look down, tune. Any questions?
Durability:
Foot, Pepsi, water, no problems. Only battle scar is a few paint chips from dropping cables.

Does what any Chromatic Tuner does but it has the handy feature of having two outputs. One will let the signal pass through while tuning and the other will cut the signal. The handy side-effect of this is you can stomp on it to cut the signal while you change guitars on stage... makes for some quick & easy changes!
