Description This is the latest studio album from the bass legend Marcus Miller himself. He played and wrote for Miles Davis, and now he's doing his own thing for a couple of years already. This is a great funky jazzy fusion album.

Marcus Miller is the greatest slap bass player there is. M2 makes no exception to his domination.

Amazing album, one of the best that I' ve ever heard. I'm a proud owner and I need to testify that every bass player around the world should have one.

Honestly, as a bass player i really don't love these bass albums, but this one is an exception. it includes typical marcus miller stuff and he uses his traditional bag of tricks, but the way he wrote the songs is really flawless, although it's a bass album but you'd really enjoy listening to songs even without concentrating on what he plays.it really deserved the title of best contemporary jazz album and that grammy award. i'd suggest it to any bass player, even you'd like to hear his great skill or his musical taste, it's really useful for any bass player to hear this great album,

This album shows the typical Marcus Miller way of writing songs. You can hear it on "Tutu" too, the album he wrote for Miles Davis. It's typically his style, and maybe it needs getting used to a bit, but once you get the hang of it, he really swings his a-- off ! Though this album holds smooth intimate songs too, like Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. Maybe one thing he could have changed, is to use a drummer instead of a drum machine. Poogie Bell does some of the drum parts, but I prefer a real instrument over programmed stuff. What I like best about this album, being a bass player myself, is his funky bass lines. He really is a great influence for me, and I like his style a lot. Though you might get enough of it after a couple of hours in a row - but I guess that's not what the cd was meant for :) I'd recommend it to anyone who would like to hear his typical type of slapping. It's definitely worth its money !
