Ray Brown was one of the most important bassists in the history of jazz. His unmistakable big tone, clean articulation and unwavering swing are often imitated, but never duplicated. The influential bassist is heard - and, indeed, his giant presence is felt - on countless legendary jazz recordings. His contributions to the history and catalog of the Concord Jazz label in particular are paramount and indelible, both as leader and omnipresent sideman (Brown is heard on seven of Concord Jazz's first dozen recordings!). We invite you to join us in celebrating the great recorded legacy of this immortal jazz legend, with these hand-picked selections from Ray Brown's deep catalog of Concord Jazz recordings.
