Peavey 350watt 8ohm Black Widow Speaker Cabinet

350W Cabinet (1 x 1")

Made by Peavey

Description This speaker cab was purchased to go with my new Peavey Amp. Having had experience of Black Widow speakers before, it was an easy choce to make. I used to own a guitar amp with a black widow.

Bad points: 1. Weight, it's a hernier with handles, should at least be on castors, but when you look at the speaker it's easy to see why it's heavy - it aint gonna meltdown without a fight. 2. A bit expensive, but hey it's got the grunt and the solidity. 3. Biggest bad point: I didn't have it 30 years ago.
Model Year: 2003
Price: $850.00 AUS (new)
Where Obtained: Dave's Music, Gladstone, Qld 4680, Australia
Features:
The big thing about this speaker cab is the sound that the Black Widow 1 x 15" speaker grunts out. Its so deep, smooth and makes you want to dance.
Sound Quality:
It's good for Blues/Country, Rock -with or without slap, and although that's all I've tried so far, I cannot see why it can't handle any genre of music. A 4x10" cab might suit some style better I assume but as a single 15" it is a great speaker.
Ease of Use:
If it's a 1x15" cab you are after, definitely look at this one! Its a case of simply plugging in the speaker lead and playing through it.
Durability:
The Black Widow has replaceable parts, is built big. It is a very heavy unit that looks as if it would take a truck to destroy it. NO doubt about this on it is built heavy and to last, or take a lot of use. If you have ever seen a Black Widow you'll know what I mean. My one and only complaint is weight. IT IS HEAVY! I'm glad I'm not a roady. The first thing I did when I got it home [after a cuppa tea] was to fit heavy-duty castors on the corner of the cab. I used the ones that can snap out when not needed. It's a pity Peavey didn't do this as standard.
