I looked and played alvarez, epiphone, gibson, martin, washburn, and still choose this one on general sound and feel in the hands and fingers next the plug in electronics were exceptional with a feedback defeat switch. lost or stolen I would replace it in a city minute. It would be a better bass if it had a built in tuner in the electronics package.

German made all wood accoustic bass with bone nut and solid spruce top. 22 frets 4 string with fishman 4 pickup satin finnish with cut away for access to neck. enclosed tuners with phospher bronze strings that attach to the bridge like an ovation.
Action is very good at the neck joint and near the nut has never needed adjustment at 3/16 of an inch. the short scale limits the jazz chording but not by much. Best accoustic bass for the value plugged in it is a monster low end and that wonderful sound of wood uprights. mine was kept in a hard shell case in excelent condition.
Live it is an alternation instrument for the wood thump sound I would not make it a solo gig instrument unless it was a bluegrass or gospel fest. All controls are easly accessable as well as 9v battery compartment.Has taken the northwoods climate very well built like a brickhouse.
I looked at a Fender jazz mex and a Yamaha BB604 and really felt that the Hohner was offering just that little bit more. I love the slim neck on this B-bass its fantastic. If you are looking for a bass with quality equipment and active electronics aswell as the option of a low B string then look no further!

Made in Korea it has a California maple through neck. The fret board is rosewood and has 24 frets. It has 2 vol and 1 tone control and an active switch. it has a Steinberger bridge which can detune the E string to alow B. Other features include two j style p-ups (select by EMG ) And the colour is natural of course.
The action is quite low and the only adjustment needed was to raise the E string slightly to eliminate some buzzing. The neck is very slim and its so easy to play this beauty fast.
I have found it to be ideal for slap styles and pop tunes but for really deap tones not the best bass for the job. ive tried a zoom effects with it and it sounds awsome. i personally wounldnt change anything on this bass. It has all the niceties as standard.
This feels like a solid bass and when you first pick one up you will notice that without any doubts. All the controls feel expensive and work really well. I must say that apart from raising the action slightly on the E string it has not required any further adjustments.
