For the price, this is an excellent bass, and would be a wonderful choice for anyone from beginner up to semi-pro.

Features:
Bought it just to have a cheap beater, but soon fell in love with the overall feel of it.
Playability:
Once I set it up, it plays great.
Sound Quality:
Pickups are a little weak, and have the typical single coil hum, but that's to be expected on a <$200 instrument. No complaints. I love the variety of tone the pickups are capable of. Much more versatile than the P or J Bass.
Durability:
So far, no trouble at all.

This is the Crossbone version on the M. The knobs are all out of the way, and it's very simple in effect.
Playability:
The neck is nice and thin. The strings seem a little high, but that may have been my doing, and it hasn't hurt the tone or reach.
Sound Quality:
Depending on the amp, this thing has got range for days. It will sound however you want it to sound.
Durability:
Pretty tough. I had it touched up with skull knobs and a strap that says "Police Line Do Not Cross". Weighs very nice on the neck.

In my price range i checked out a couple fenders, the other squier's (pbass 4 and 5 strings). this bass could be better if the knobs stayed on :), quality pickups and came with better strings but now i am asking too much. for the price you can't go wrong

Where Obtained: Northland Music
Features:
Rosewood fretboard. 22 fretboard with 4 strings. the factory strings are crappy fender strings so buy new ones. silver gloss finish. the body looks like a ibanez bass. 2 style pickups (jazz and pickup). active electronics on this puppy. 3 knobs (volume, panning pickups and tone)
Playability:
I play a variety of types of music and the dual pickups obivously enhance the performance. the neck is great and i prefer it to the squier Pbasses ANYDAY. no flaws yet for me. in this price range you can't expect perfection tho so i will keep u posted.
Sound Quality:
I use a squier bp15 amp. clear sound with slight buzz but just turn down the tone. i play rock, jazz, instrumental and all sound great. holds well with slapping and finer picking but sounds crappy with plectrums. the pickups make it sound better than the Pbass
Durability:
I bounce around and play crazy and it holds well. one knob fell off 3 days after purchase. so thats a bit bad but thats it
