Excellent value for money, sounds great, the natural finish looks good and the active electronics allow for good adjustment.

I tried out a lot of different basses before buying the yamaha.
The quality is excellent and it arrived well set up.
Only downside was that I had to wait six weeks for delivery as they had all sold out in the UK !.
The small cutaway towards the body helps you to reach the E and is much more comfortable than others Ive tried.
I use a roland cube 30 at present but intend to upgrade shortly, Ill let you know how it goes.
It seems as though the yamaha can hold a note forever!, it just goes on and on.
Nothing has fallen off yet.
I tried some cheap Fenders and Ibanez' before I settled on this one. I never looked back. If you're looking for a bass in this price range, I suggest you go for a BB604. It also comes in a 5-string version called BB605.

Nathan East style body, two single coil j-style pickups. Active electronics with NE1 parametric EQ. Controls are: volume, blend, bass, mid, treble and mid cut off switch. Comes in three finishes: natural, black and Wine red. Mine is a beautiful wine red with gold hardware.
I easily obtained my preferred low action. No problems setting it up. This bass plays every bit as good as other basses in this price-range. Actually it plays better then most of them, that's why I chose it. Hehe.
For it's price, playability is excellent.
I play it through a direct line into my home studio setup, and it sounds great. I have Focusrite preamps. Sound is a bit on the bright side, so it's a good bass for slap and pop tunes. Does well with rock too. Cuts through really well when played with a pick.
I've only had it for about four months, so I can't really say anything about it's durability. It looks solid though...
