I chose this over a Warwick because I already had the Neck-thru version of the Q5, and I like the Spector Sound. I'd definitely get another Q5 if it needed replacing, or upgrade to a European or US model. Spector hit another home run with this axe!!!
Model Year: 2001
Price: $486.00 CAD
Where Obtained: Long & McQuade-Burlington
Features:
-made in the Korea -3 Ply Rock Maple Neck with 24 Fret Rosewood Fingerboard -quilted maple top(Blue Stain finish) -5 strings -2 passive EMG-HZs -EMG active tone circuit -Spector NS body style -Spector Locking bridge
Playability:
A bit thicker neck than my neck thru, but still quite enjoyable to play!
Sound Quality:
I use an SWR Workingman's 4004 rig (4004 head, 2x10T, and 1x15T cabs) and a Digitech BP200 Modelling Bass Processor. This bass is perfect for a diverse range of styles. There's a bit of noise when the high end is cranked, but other than that, it sounds great. Nice deep low end for live applications.
Durability:
I've adjusted the action and intonation at the time of purchase almost a month agao, so far, so good! It seems pretty durable, tuning doesn't slip, pretty dependable
