This amp is a great value for the money. The TAPE IN feature as demonstrated in their instruction manual is what finally influenced my decision to choose this one. I probably would buy this amp again if it was stolen, though I will really put it to the test once I start jamming with other musicians again. I have yet to know if it puts out enough sound. I am sure there are comparable amps out there with more features, for roughly the same money. If you are looking for gadgets, this may not be the one for you. If you are looking for simple and durable with clean and strong output, then take a look.

This amp has seperate inputs for passive or active basses, volume knob, and 4-band equalizer. In addition it has what Behringer calls the "Shape Function." There are jacks for PREAMP OUT to drive an external bass amp, POWER AMP IN to feed in the output signal from an external amp, and my favorite: the TAPE IN which allows one to play along w/ a tape, drum machine or iPod thru an RCA connection.
I use this amp for practicing in my music room. It is plenty loud. In fact, I haven't really turned it anywhere near max volume. I am pretty certain that I would be able to use this amp with a live drummer and still be able to hear myself.
I play my USA P-bass through this just for my daily practice sessions. I am mostly playing rock and blues. I think that this amp would work fine for just about any style of music. It is not exceptionally powerful, but it is expandable w/ the Power Amp In feature. I have found it to give a really clean sound. As I said though, I only use it all by myself in a dark, lonely room.
This is a very basic amp. Not too many knobs or switches. In fact, the nice folks at Behringer supplied me w/ a nice schematic of suggested setups with a drum computer or tuner, or external effects device. I think that this is what prompted me to choose this amp over some of the others in the same price range I looked at. I have some of my intructional CDs on my iPod, and I just run them and play along. Also, I have a good time playing along to some of my favorite songs. The Tape In loop is independent of my bass, so I can adjust the volume and jam!
This amp boasts low-noise and indestructibility. It is made of "high-grade and non-polluting E1-MDF boards" which are free of formaldehydes. It also has what they call "Dynamizer" technology which is designed to maintain the integrity of the signal even if the amp reaches it's power limits. The opto-limiter in the power stage claims to make it virtually impossible to overdrive this amp.
Solid amp for a solid price. Bottom line.

This amp has the following knobs (controls): Volume, bass, low-mid, high-mid, high, shape. It also comes with plug-ins for preamp in and out. One feature I really like about it is the headphone cut-off. Since I use this amp at home, and don't always want to keep the neighbours, this feature enables me to plug in my headphones and only I hear the sound through the headphones.
I do not use any effects with this amp, but I'm sure it could handle it. I play mostly vintage vibes with a bit of groove, jazz and blues, and this seems to adhere to all. The volume goes to 10 like most amps, and it remains extremely clear up to 8 and then it begins to distort. But at 8 the BX600 is almost too rad for mom and dad.
This amp takes a while to figure out how to get just the right sound. It's all by ear and it is not programmable. I think the BX1200 (the dad of the BX600) has more in the way of programmability.
This amp could survive a larger gig, but is more intended for small gigs and jams. I have had it for 6 months and have not had to re-tube it yet, mind you, I do not play any heavy, heavy metal.
I was looking for a moderate priced yet versatile amp, and that's exactly what I got. It has a warm sound, a satisfying adjustable tonerange and is light AND strong enough to carry around.
Would I buy it again? I think so yes. It's ease of use is outstanding and the sound quality is worth every cent.

The BX600 is a versatile rehersal combo that commes with an active 4 band EQ: Bass, Low Mid, High Mid and High, as well as Shape control allowing you to modify the tone of your bass up to a certain level.
You have an active and passive input, a pre amp out, amp in and an line out. If you like you can play-along with the Tape in RCA (good for CD-player of Drum computer too. All of this allows you to plug in a drum computer, external effects device, a mixing console, pedals...you name it. What looks like a detail, was pretty important to me and that's the headphone jack disabling the speaker when plugged in. This is a rehersal Amp, remember. The neighbours will love you for this.
Don't expect to be able to play gigs with this Amp, although the 60 watts - 50 watts RMS do have more than enough punch for practice and study.
The Shape filter is a simple knob that is activated through a little button next to it. Nothing fancy but functional enough to switch swiftly between two extreems.
It's a good thing that there's build-in limiter for maximum loudness, keeping distortion under control. Speaking of distortion, make sure that this Amp (or any for that matter) is grounded properly, unless you dig serious hummer...I didn't think so. Overall a great sound considering its price and purpose.
One of the downsides af a basic combo is the facts that there's not that much to fiddle with. But then again, I consider that one of its strenghts! 4 EQ knobs and 1 shape knob...that's it. The lack of "gadgets", in my opinion, is compensated by the number of possibilities you have pluggin' in or lining out just about anything you like.
This baby is made to last. It has a rugged, solid and compact design. It is claimed to be short circuit proof (Hmmz, I wouldn't start trowing beer at it though). With its 20 kg (vaven't got a clue what that means for you folks in the good old US of A) trown in and out of the trunk it can use a bit of muscle.
