The other basses I looked at (Fender, Ibanez etc.) while more comfortable, the Yamaha sounded MUCH better. Like I said before, for the price I paid, it's a cool bass! If this were stolen (firstly, I'd die trying to save it!), I don't think I would get this exact bass again. My favorite aspect of this bass is it's sound. My least favorite is the width of the neck. This bass would be holy if it had a narrower neck and better knobs. It's a pretty spiffy bass tho!

It's as basic as you get, really. It's a really nice looking bass (mines black) with the exception of the two knobs...
I'm loosing my mind, I believe it's 24 frets. And it's passive of course.
Overall, this bass is pretty damn solid! It's not at all the best bass in the world, but for that price it's excellent!
If comfort is your prime objective, this is not the bass for you. The neck is
extremely wide wich forces me to not do as much as I used to at the higher end. It's kinda wearing on your wrist after a while.
But as for everything else it's flawless.
I fell in love with the sound of this bass. While it can be adjusted to be kinda punchy, it's natural tendancy is to be very warm and full.
I play it through an Ampeg amp. It's suited for all styles, though I personally think it's especially good for the more melodic stuff as opposed to the more agressive styles.
I'd probably not replace it with the same model. Now that I've played fretless, I'd go ahead and get a 5 string.

My first fretless. It's black, got a crack in the paint, and the tone knob is wobbly (but works fine, and no crackle). What do you expect for the price.
Smooth, and it weighs practically nothing.
Plugged it into my M-Pulse 600 (Mesa/Boogie) and was shocked. I expected it to sound like .... (well, sound bad) compared to my Stingray5. It's no Stingray, but I was amazed at the warmth, tone. The high end is not as good, but who really plays on the D or G anyway.
I dunno. It seems o.k. The paint has a crack, and the tone knob is wobbly, but doesn't seem to effect it. Since it's not my primary ax, I'm not worried about it.
Once gain, this bass isn't the greatest, but for what I paid for it, it is excellent.

Great bass for the price. Neck is slowly bending. Limited tone. Makes speakers fuzz if tone knob isn't at either 0 or 10. This is my second bass and it is well worth what I payed for it. Very simple. Fast neck.
Very easy to play. Had the action lowered and can play at Cliff Burton speed.
Sound is very limited. I like the tone for what I play, but not versatile enough for everything.
Very durable. Strap-lock is falling out, but that is my fault b/c of the way I hold the bass. Stays in tune very well.
This Bass is actually my first FRETLESS BASS.
For the price I was totally blown away by the playability of this BASS. The neck is super fast,I haven't had any problems with the neck since I have bought it. I did modify it a little.I put BARTOLINI
PASSIVE P'S in it and switched the bridge to a GOTOH
HIGH MASS (BLACK BRIDGE.) Gotoh Tuners also, BLACK.
All I can say is that, I have had, and still have basses
that cost alot more than the YAMAHA but this modified
FRETLESS SINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAJOR FULL FAT BOTTOM TONE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
