Chose it for Reputation, value and guarantee.
Price: $24.95 (new)
Where Obtained: Coffey Music
Features:
24k gold plated plugs, Compression Spring Connectors, and Double-Insulated/Double Shielded Cable makes for clear signal. I don't pick up the Spanish Radio Station any more! Elastic Cable Tie is convenient for wrapping up cable
Durability:
Haven't had it long enough to gauge reliability, but I'm sure it will last longer than the cheap cable I originally bought with my bass. Besides, you can't go wrong with Lifetime Guarantee. Nevertheless, I bought a second Planet Waves cable as a gig backup. Soldering points not accessible, but you can turn it in for a new one if it goes bad.

Well, I had good cables, and wasn't going to upgrade, as I thought the cost was a little much...but a friend had one, and I played with it, and it sounded awesome! Then someone gave me one, and when I heard how good it sounded in my rig, I immediately set out to replace all the cables in my rig with Planet Waves! I highly reccommend these cables, and urge everyone to try them out...you won't be sorry!
Price: $29.50 CD (new)
Where Obtained: Lakeshore Music-Long & Mcquade
Features:
The gold plated connectors and the compression springs makes sure that the signal goes from my bass directly to my amp withouth loss or alteration. I use 1 cable (The PW-GRA-10) going from my bass to my effects unit, and then another (PW-G-10) from the effects unit to my amp. These cables don't need anything else at all!
Durability:
The cable definitly holds up for live gigs and sessions. I've used them live twice now, and both times you could tell there was a HUGE difference in the quality of the sound...and I didn't use cheap cables before, either! The only other Planet Waves Product I'm familiar with is the Grip Master, which I liked, and have actually ordered another one! The connectors are double-molded, so I can see why they're comfortable providing a lifetime warranty for this product...I think you'd have to cut it or do something really stupid and careless to break these cables.
