My overall opinion is that these pick-ups can turn the sound of a cheap bass into a great sounding bass. For $60 I think they would be a well spent investment!!
Price: $61.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Guitar Center
Features:
I bought these to replace the stock P-ups in my 94 Fender Standard P Bass.
Sound Quality:
I play my bass through an Ampeg B2R that runs into a Behringer 1,200W power amp and into an SWR Workingman 4x10, and behringer 2x10. The pups sound great, much better then stock. The p-ups actually allow me to blend different tones instead of just high and low. Very Punchy sounding, and I can even get `em to growl!
Durability:
I've only had them in for 2 months, so I can't say much.

Use with Tube pre amp and Compressor then direct to mixing board Contemporary Christian music very quiet deeper bass, more mids and sharper treble Love it NO hum I play with acoustics and they are so noisy that its nice to know I'm not contributing to the overall back ground noise

So far so good Played for the first time with them sunday morning, was very pleased. They came highly recomended.

Not bad pickups just weren't getting me the sound I was looking for. Now Griz has them and hopefully is happy.
Price: $60.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Warmoth
Features:
High output direct pbass replacement. These were the first pickups installed in my custom pbass(warmoth neck 73 pbass body and custom parts) They sounded good and punchy with really hot output.
Sound Quality:
As noisy as regular pbass pickups are. I didn't feel they were getting me the sound out of my fretless I wanted. So i replaced them with bartolinis. My guess is these p/u's woulb be best suited for rock, punk or maybe funk.
Durability:
Whoever did the soldering job at SD did a crappy job and the wires popped of real easily. Easy to fix just reterminated and soldered all of the contacts. I've heard of other people having this problem. Thats the only problem but for someone who cant solder it would probably suck.

Well.. this is just what i wanted. Punch and tone! Great for types of music like punk, metal, funk and stuff. Mark Hoppus and Steve Harris are two of the guys that use this, but almost any good punk band uses this... for instance Bad Religion. If you're looking for a punchy, toneful and reliable pickup - this is the one for yoU !!
Features:
I use this pickup on my Custom Shop Jazz Bass and also a Seymour Duncan Hot-Stack Jazz.Bass pickup on the bridge. With a Bad A-- II bridge makes a perfect combination!!
Sound Quality:
The sound is just great, it gives me the punch and tone i was looking for !
Durability:
Perfect for everything !! :)

I chose this for its reputation, and cause my squier was annoying me and the band. Mark hoppus uses them so that was one more reccomendation for me. I would buy them if i lost (no one will steal my squier..) the bass. I really like the tone, wouldnt change anything about it. all around great for me, my perfect pickup.
Price: $60.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians Friend
Features:
I put them in a squier p-bass, in the plan i could take them out and put in a new bass. Its a standard, P bass pickup, nothing too fancy. No electronics, its passive.
Sound Quality:
I run them through a digitech bp-200, a boss equalizer, and a bassman25, and some times i extend into my buddy's roland for practice. I really like how they sound with tone all the way up, get a punk-twang goin. But i have also gotten a nice full tone out of them when playing finger style. Its a really hot pickup, so i sorta have to watch the volume knob on my bass, but i LOVE THE SOUND.
Durability:
Dont tour or gig (yet...) but havent had any problems in 4 months. The only thing, the wires that were attached to it when it came were very loose and i had to remove them and instead solder them to the existing wires.
