Inputs and outputs are in an odd place as far as linking effects together with dual plugs. Other than that, it's an all around winner.

Three knobs; easy layout.
Peavey Cirrus Five into a Roland Cube 30 for Bass. The unit is pretty quiet. I play funk and blues, some jazz. Adjusting the unit to your needs is pretty easy.
Three knobs, an input and an output and a place to plug in the wall wart -- not exactly rocket science.
Could be a bit more on the consrtuction side, but with care it'll make it fine.
I love it...if you need a funky pedal, but you don't want to splash out on the real thing, get this.

Basic features like all EHX stuff. Drive, Q control and the high, band and low pass feature. It's AC/battery powered.
Vey sensitive effect, just a slight alteration to the Q or Drive controls and your whole sound changes (that isn't a critism), and hugely funked up. It's quite a unique pedal, and I didn't have enough cash for the big Q-tron, let alone a Mutron, so I bought this, and I'm glad I did. It bypasses well.
It's not a wah in the strictest sense of the word, it's more quacky. It still wahs, just not in the same wasy as an auto wah would. I love it to pieces, and it adds a little funk to my playing.
Basic stuff, the Q control alters how dramatic the effect is, and the drive knob alters the sweep.
It's durable, just not as durable as some Boss pedals are, and that's no huge critism.
My little box of FUNK. I dont believe there is a better effect for the money.

Can be powered by both AC or battery, luckily I had an adapter that worked.
Controls are, Drive, Q and a control that selects high pass mid pass and low pass.
With this peddle I use a warwick streamer standard, through a Laney RBG 500 amp.
I mainly play rock blues and this is ideal for adding a touch of FUNK.
I stared using effects with the zoom multi effects, but I found i couldn't quite get the sound I wanted, with this I can. Once bypassed it is totally silent.
Not programmable. Very easy to get the required sound.
You get a bit of a sound boost on the low pass, but with a bit of fiddling that is easliy sorted.
Solid construction, comes complete with wooden carry box, painted to match the peddle.
As i've said before,a Funk player would probably give more insight into this pedal. But I have to say i really enjoy using the Mini Q-Tron it really has some great sounds. And i saved quite a few bucks buy not buying it's bigger brother(by the way,the Mini Q-Tron isn't that "Mini" it's about the size of two and half Boss or DOD pedals but still smaller than the full Q-Tron).If only EH could fix the volume boost issue or tone it down just a hair.Give it a try!

3 Control knobs... Drive,Q and mode.Mode knob has three selections HP(high pass-effects highs),BP(band pass-effects mids) and LP(low pass-effects lows) the low mode sounds best for bass guitar.1 input jack,1 output jack,1 on/off switch.Unit is battery powered and an AC adapter can also be used.It is recommended in the insruction manual that you unplug from the input when not in use to save batteries.Im sure i will be picking up an AC adapter.Mono operation.
Sound quality is great!now I am far from a funky bass player.Growing up with progressive rock bands like Rush and Dream Theater, I just don't have da FUNK.But i have been listening to Bootsy Collins and Marcus Miller quite a bit lately and I just wanted a different sound. This thing allows you to get some slimey, sexy, juicy tones! It really responds to how hard you play.Very dynamic!I had heard from other users that there is quite a volume boost with the unit switched on.This is absolutely true! So watch your input levels on your amp,it is very easy to distort accidentally. This is the only thing really wrong with the pedal.Unit is very quiet when not engaged-true bypass.
I've never really used a full size Q-Tron.Like i said im not funky enough to warrant such an expensive pedal! But the Mini is so easy to use.3 knobs, what could be more simple? The Rrive and Q knobs are very sensitive just a little change in either direction will alter the sound. And this is far from a one tone pedal, there are many useable sounds depending on your playing style.Just altering your picking/plucking attack will change the sound.
It's made of metal.Im sure it's not as armor/tank-like, like a Boss pedal or one of the old DOD pedals, but i think it should survive quite easily.
