Description Proof that radiohead are frauds and that truly anyone can go mad, or is mad but just doesn't know it. The greatest concept album ever?

A band of and before their time, if that makes any sense! Muscially innovate with a strong influence from the world the way it was at that period. is a 1973 concept album by Pink Floyd. Dark Side Of The Moon explores the nature of the human experience, with themes such as time, greed, conflict, travel, mental illness, and death. The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the best-selling albums of all time worldwide, and the 20th-best-selling album in the United States. It peaked at #1 on The Billboard 200. Though it held the #1 spot for only one week, it spent a record total of 741 consecutive weeks (over 14 years) on that list. Nuff said!

What makes this album so great is, IMHO, not the individual playing, but the way the sonic space available is used. Each part contributes to make something greater than the sum of their parts - it's just a great listen. Even though the depressing lyrics sometimes become a bit too heavy, this disc is an example of what creativity can acheive - there's a reason that it's one of the most popular discs of all time!

Greatest? Almost. "Money" is in the way.

Radiohead frauds? Not sure what the person who made original review of Dark Side of the Moon was smoking when out of the blue he tries to put down Radiohead. Its not really like Radiohead was stealing P. Floyd's idea on the concept album since there have been many others in the past but I agree Dark Side of the Moon is one of the geatest examples of a concept album. Going by his theory... I guess no other artist should try to do a concept album unless it will truly top Dark Side which is just silly and narrow-minded. I give the original review 3 stars and my review of the Dark Side of the Moon 5 stars.

Ahhh, sweet sweet dark side of the moon. WHAT!?!? all concept albums are EVIL and CRAP you say? a-hem, I beg to differ matey. You see, back in 1973, 4 dudes released what is, in my opinion (gold help me) one absolutely damn fine lp of sheer EPIC proportions. Not to be thought of as nine seperate tracks, this is one long piece of music. Yes, there are recurring themes, yes there are bizaare wacky noises between some songs, and yes, "bullshit" is sang during money, but cast aside your pre-conceptions!! have you ever thought that you're mad, that the materialistic aspects of humanity and general sluggishness of it all have driven you to an inconceivable depth of insanity? you are indeed on the dark side of the moon mate. Nice to have you here, but anyway, the recording. This is depressing stuff (indeed, the guitar solo on "time" really makes me wanna cry, the bit where the "ahhhs" are being sang) and it is a pretty morbid subject matter, but late at night, when imagination is conjurring bizaare images and you want to just float away, put on "dark side of the moon", and prepare for lift off.
