As a big radiohead fan (i loved everything done before including KID A) i dived straight into amnesiac, tongue hanging out of mouth, palms sweating and eyes (and indeed ears) open wide. Ok, ok, it's different I admit, but it's just so damn hard to listen to. It demands 100% attention, not designed to be background music whilst you're revving down your local high street. The first single, "pyramid song" was fookin brilliant, similar to the "kid a" radiohead i loved dark, mysterious and indeed depressing. "knives out", another single, also brilliant typical radiohead. But then there was every other song on the album......bleepy experimental aural torture, deliberately trying to be different. Thom Yorke probably released this with a smug grin on his face, shouting "there! now hate us dammit! we have you wrapped around your finger, WE'RE PUSHING YOU!!!", so forget the fact it's lovely radiohead, approach it with caution, and prepare for the shock that unfolds as soon as you hit "play". Thom, I know you can do better, so please start trying again.
