I looked at some oth heads and cabs but the fender bassman 400 head just gives you a great full, powerful sound at a cheaper price than the ampeg's and th gk heads. the best aspect is the built in compresso in which you can make your sound very staccato or very lagato.
Price: $559.99 (new)
Where Obtained: Mars Music
Features:
Sound Quality:
I play a spector NS2000Q4 bass as well as a fivestring ESP F-205. it can be used fro a wide range of styles, jazz, metal, punk. etc. i used some ampeg SVT heads and they were as good as this bassman head. it operates great at high volumes.
Ease of Use:
This is a simple setup. There are two witches one fro the enhancment feature which gives you a nice full sound without any hissing, and the EQ on/off switch which alollows you to swith the eq of and on if you have a particular setting for another song or another style of music.
Durability:
No tubes so that is good you don't have to replace them but gves a great tone none the less very durable.
