I have to also mention.. i took this bass to play for a local Blues band... i was standing in for there bass player.. these guys are all old talented musicians.. they fell in love with the sound of it too.. when i told them it was intended really just for punk enthusiasts they just couldnt understand it. lol So hearing all these compliments from respected local musicians has made me even more so realise that this bass can and will suit any type of music and it will always be of a bright and clear tone :) mite i also add that i no longer really play punk music.. i play a jazz bass now... but next time im gigging.. ill be using my Hoppus :) maybee have the jazz back up and for my funk.

Playability:
Fender Precision neck. Jazz Body. P Bass Pick ups.. i love a good Precision neck but im afraid to say im used to a jazz neck these days. But for a bit of a frankenstein bass it is great. i read all the glowing reviews in magazines so decided to try it out in the store and fell inlove with it.. Note.. i was in a punk band at the time.. and Mark Hoppus was certainly nothing to do with it.. as Blink 182 have never been my cup of tea.lol his name is modestly on the back of the neck joint.. so i really liked the fact it looks original. plays just like a precision in my opinion.
Sound Quality:
As it is famous for only having the one volume control and nothing else... i loved the idea of just plugging in and getting on with buisiness. so it appealed to my simplicity values... when i heard the warm bright tones of this bass i felt like i had found that pure old school punk sound.. rolling root notes never sounded so warm and alive compared to previous basses.. crisp yet crunchy.. yet tinnie.. talking walks up the neck and listening to the warm melodic high's.. i was inlove! it really is the only bass a punk player would ever need. as for getting more sounds.. thats where the amplifier comes in. :)
Durability:
Its a brilliantly made bass guitar. it stays in tune at ease.. and is always a joy to play. im just concerned at the paintjob... it seems way too hard to keep clean..

Overall, listen to blink's music off of take off your pants and jacket and listen to the bass.especially in tracks 1 and 2...if that sounds good to you, that is the sound you'll get outta that bass, personally i love mine. and it sounds really really great with brand new strings.

It is Made in Mexico, the Body is made of Alder, and the neck is maple, with a rosewood fretboard.20 frets, 4 strings, only has a volume control, it has basslines quarter pound pickups(passive), i have the pastel-like pink one. it has a jazz body with a precision neck and pickup setup. it is string through with normal fender tuners
Playability:
The action was terrific when i got it, the neck is a little big, with the jumbo frets so it is basically my rhythm bass since finger work is hard to do on it, although i have trained myself to play some things with alot of finger work so you get used to it. people claim that since it only has one volume knob that u can only get one sound out of it, but i have found that i can basically get any sound i want by messing with my amp's eq settings
Sound Quality:
I dont use effects with it. i play punk and pop-punk with it, i play alot of rancid with it. it is a great rhthym bass. it is bright and punchy. I find it perfect for studio and live.
Durability:
It is durable like most fenders i have seen. i have dropped it several times and stuck stickers all over it then i removed the stickers with a fork so the finish is pretty tough, i did drop it on my drummers snare and a small peice of the fret board chipped off but it is still my prized bass.

Playability:
This is a great bass with a nive deep punch. it has a great low and high end and plays perfect
Sound Quality:
I use an ampeg ba-112 and squire bp15 with it and the quality is great. i play rock stuff with it and it is perfect for that style; but when i play jazz, blues, or reggae with it it is a tiny bbit heavy. this bass ias great and deffinatlly tops the squire p-bass i had before. one final thing about this bass is that it sounds great everywhere
Durability:
Im not quite sure about how often the neck and action etc... have to be ajusted because i have only had it for about 2 weeks

It's a pretty bass. One side note however is, there is no control plate, like on Mark's real bass, the pickguard extends all the way down. The lack of a tone means that there is one sound coming out of this bass. The Blink 182 sound. If you like it, than thats great. Go for it. But if you don't, well then you won't be able to shape your tone as much. Bottom line is that this thing isn't incredibly versatile. Know what you're buying before you buy it. Don't just buy it because you like Blink. Personally, I love mine.

Alder J-Bass body, Maple w/Rosewood P-bass neck. Seymour Duncan 3/4lb Pickups. Single chromw volume knob, "Mark Hoppus" Neck plate. American series bridge. (Standard series parts). Schaller style BML tuners.
Playability:
Nice factory set up on this one. (Note, it pays off to play the actual bass you're gonna buy). I was playing DeArmond Pilots before this one, so it took some re-adjusting to get used to the P neck again. Overall very nice. It's still a Fender, and plays like a Fender.
Sound Quality:
The pickups are nice. However it's not like they're excluse. You're paying for the looks on this bass....because they're all standard series parts, and Standard series P-basses are like $350? $60 or so for Duncan 3/4lbers... But yes, the pickups are nice, fat sounding. Just like....Mark from that band Blink 182 :-) I use mine on a crate BX50 with the countour on pretty low and its the perfect sound
Durability:
I've had it since december and haven't had to adjust anything. I would gig without a backup, but we play songs in drop D so I have 2 basses with me anyway. I didn't even bother with the strap buttons and put a Dimarzio clip lock strap on. Haven't taken it through many climate changes, so I can't attest to that.
