Buy it. Looks beautiful, Plays beautiful.

Price: $300.00 canadian (new)

This is a great all around bass. It sounds great if it's your first time picking up a bass or if your a seasoned veteran. If it came in a 5 or 6 string variety i would buy it for sure. Buy this bass!
Playability:
I find it has the perfect length neck and the frets are nicely spread. Awesome bass. My baby
Sound Quality:
Great stage bass. I'm not sure if it's how hard i play the bass or what but i have to change the strings frequently to maintain a high sound quality.
Durability:
4 Years and still goin hard. Survives the canadian winters haha.

Other basses i looked at were fender jazz and precision and i also looked at some aria basses but i chose this one, mostly because it was in my price range(!) but also because it had been recommended and it had all the aspects i was looking for. I don't think i would buy this bass if i had the chance to buy a new one, my favourate aspect would be the neck, it is rather thin and it is easier to get to the frets but the worst aspect would be the torsion rod wheel.
Price: $220.00 Sterling (new)
Where Obtained: Windows
Features:
Made In US Maple neck 20 frets, 4 strings volume and tone controls, 1 split p-style pick-up, humbucking pickup active electronics split coil p-style pickup flame-top finish precision body style
Playability:
My bass is suitable for me, i can obtain my preffered actions. It compared to other basses, it is average but i have also encountered other basses which it is better than.
Sound Quality:
I use peavey bassman amp, i play slap, punk, and ska styles. It suits these style pretty well, but not as much the slap as the punk/ska. It was a pretty warm sound. Although i have heard better sounding basses, i still think this one sounds very nice and satisfying. I would like to get some different pick-ups and amybe new strings as sometimes they fuzz but that may be because i have had them for almost a year now.
Durability:
I would say it is reliable enough to play live steady, it doesnt really need adjustment that much, all the hardware is holding up pretty good and it fares ok during climate changes

Great buy for any bassist, i would definatly buy this bass again, the simple controls and no bull layout of this ax make it PERFECT for almost any style of music, my favorite aspects of this bass are the incredibly thin and fast neck coupled with the ultra light weight over all. it is perfectly balanced and i think you should go get one right now, its well worth the 200 bones i threw down.
Model Year: 2003
Price: $224.99 (new)
Where Obtained: crino music
Features:
Simple layout superfast bolt on neck. precision style body and pickup
Playability:
The action is easy to adjust, it is a very playable bass, the neck is TINY in comparison with other four strings, the string spacing is close to that of an ibanez soundgear 5 string, the small neck makes it easy to play with tiny hands or huge clunky mits, its retarded fast and fun to play
Sound Quality:
Played through a 350 watt peavey half stack, the pickup was very nice, loud and warm sounding. the slap action is awesome on it, its a great bass for beginning funk players but more advanced players may want a fuller sound. peavey did a great job with this bass though. i was very impressed. very low amount of fretbuzz, almost no noise, great bass.
Durability:
Its very lightweight which would lead one to question its durability, however, i have found over the years that peavey products are all tough as nails. the bass is pretty solid.

This would be a great bass if i changed the pickups but i would rather put the money to a bass with better sound and features. get this bass if u want a cheap bass that sounds good for rock/punk/old-school metal
Model Year: 1999
Price: $220.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Russo's Music
Features:
4 string p-bass with 19 frets. 1 volume and 1 tone. this is a very simple bass. the one thing i like about it more then a squire or any other fender copy would be the extended horn for balance while playing and has a slim neck like one on a jazz bass. other then that not much differant from the compatition
Playability:
I like the jazz bass neck on this. it allows me to play longer without my hand cramping up on the lower notes.
Sound Quality:
I really don't like the factory pickup, but it is better then the other p-basses in this price range. if i felt like changing the pick up to maybe an emg one then this would be a kick @$$ bass
Durability:
I have used this bass at a few gigs and it built like a tank. i havent adjusted the truss rod yet but i probably need to. the weather out here is some of the worst to play a guitar in. 125 degree summers with 100% humidity to -45 deggree winters.

Overall? It's great. I spent a couple of months looking at basses with the emphasis for me being as cheap as possible, with the intention of replacing it when I felt I was any good. As I say below, Squire and Tanglewood were considered but the Milestone IV was much better. I had also considered the Milestone II which felt and sounded similar to me... but the IV had a far swankier finish!

I will keep this bass for ever and will probably play it for just as long, thank you very much! For the money you pay, you're getting an absolute bargain.
Model Year: 2000
Price: $140.00 UK pounds () (new)
Where Obtained: Gamlin's Music, Cardiff, Wales (UK)
Features:
I have to point out that I've only been playing bass properly for three weeks - I'm a complete beginner! However, here's what I can tell you.

The Milestone IV is made in Vietnam, and mine's in a spangly blue finish which looks the business... it's very obviously aimed at beginners which is no bad thing, so the features are pretty bog-standard - P-bass body, split pick-ups, four strings, maple neck, rosewood fret board... the things you'd really expect a bass to have.

The Milestone IV is pretty unremarkable in this respect, but to be honest that's a good thing given that it's very much a beginner's bass!
Playability:
I'm into punky/indie rock and it's very easy to play on this bass. The balance is off a little bit, the neck is a bit heavier than the body so it can slip down but when you're actually playing it feels nice. Given that it's a beginner's bass the neck is quite narrow compare to some I've looked at which is handy for me as I've come from rhythm guitar.
Sound Quality:
Given the price paid, this bass has a lovely sound. We've run it through Peavey amps (practice and performance - can't tell you any model names I'm afraid) and the tone is great. It sounds good through a crappy guitar amp as well, believe it or not.

If I had to describe the tone it would be 'full-bodied'. As I said above, good for punky/indie rock!
Durability:
This bass is rock-solid. I've dropped it from about 30" while I was trying to sort out the strap, and it bounced. The great thing about cheap guitars and basses is they're made for clumsy hands!

Don't let that put you off though. The build quality is excellent, far better than some of the other cheap basses I've looked at. It feels much better built than a Squire low-end bass, and I've looked at Tanglewood basses too - it's probably about the same as a 300 Tanglewood (so about $500 I think)

It rocks. Period.
